Smedjegatan art@syntropia.space
syntropia.space started on Smedjegatan, a back street in central Gothenburg. In an old worker's cafe with a deep history as the physical space in between, where the dock workers of the time and government officials met over a sausage sandwich and a cup of coffee. After a period of time where entropy was allowed to run wild, we took room to start a temporary, lively, creative place with a focus on spontaneous and positive co-creation. A space for our individual resources and abilities for untested ideas and expressions. Since then we have found more spaces to further investigare more collaborations.

A temporary space can give rise to new collaborations where spontaneous visions around shared ideas of culture and creativity in various forms are being tested and displayed. Like the weed that bloom while the forest grow. The events and collaborations that take place at syntropia.space expresses the need regarding accessibility of spaces in a heart of the city for creative ideas in various forms to socialise and express themselves.

Syntropia's original meaning comes from mathematician Luigi Fantappiè's theory (simplified explanation) that there are two forces working together, one builds up (syntropy) and the other (entropy) breaks down. He believed that syntropy is the essence of life.
